You Run Tests, We Purify Water

Founded in 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah, our journey began with importing systems from Europe, evolving in 2006 to exclusive USA manufacturing with components from local partners. Today, our systems feature advanced design elements and undergo a proprietary assembly process, delivering superior water solutions nationwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you help prevent costly down time to lab analyzers?

System downtime is mitigated through unique issue resolution procedures, 24/7 technical phone support for troubleshooting, backup emergency bypass, and emergency service in 24 hours or less.

We are getting inconsistent results from our lab water system. How does your system improve output?

Our multi-step purification process follows best industry practices for removal of ionic contaminants AND bacterial growth. These practices are reinforced through client interaction and understanding. We're committed to ensuring your confidence in our systems, confidence that should be bolstered through empirical data and results.

What is considered Type I or pure water?

Type I water, also referred to as Clinical Laboratory Reagent Water (CLRW), deionized (DI), or ultra-pure, is water that meets the standards necessary for use in the lab environment. While there is no set or specific body established to govern or regulate all lab environments, the College of American Pathologists (CAP) has established standards for ultra-pure water which can be reviewed on the internet. If you're curious about General Water systems ability to meet a standard or specification, give us a call!

What is Annual Recertification?

The Annual Warranty Recertification is a comprehensive assessment and service that extends the GWT 100% parts and labor warranty. This is the same warranty provided during the initial startup and integration of your GWT analyzer feed system. The recertification service includes installation of all needed consumables and also provides a new 1-year certificate of water quality, which attests that the water meets or exceeds CAP/CLSI Type I water standards.

How do you prevent bacteria buildup?

Continuous recirculation, UV treatment, and final filter technology ensure an ultra-pure and bacteria-free water.

How should a GWT Ultra-Pure Water System be maintained?

Our systems should be maintained by authorized technicians and/or operators through continuous vigilance. Noting the carbon filter integrity and final water quality will alert the user to changes or conditions that need to be addressed (replacement of the filters or mixed-bed deionizer tanks).

What standards do GWT water systems meet?

GWT meets or exceeds all common standards for ultra-pure water. Including but not limited to ASTM, CAP/NCCLS, NCCLS/CLSI, USP 20, Type I, Type II, and Type III.

Do you make drinking water filtration systems?

No, they are designed to a much higher specification, with the needs of specialized equipment in mind. In fact, the water from our systems is so pure that it is missing many of the common trace minerals that give the best drinking water that crisp taste.

How long have you been in business?

General Water Technologies is a family-owned, third-generation operated business incorporated in 2001.
